Pre-competiton
This Sunday April 11, I have a power lifting competition. Ok, I know I mention this alot, but I really proud of it. Two years ago I couldn't bend over and tie my shoes without running out of breadth. Now I can squat 200#! This is the 3rd one I've done and I'm really looking forward to it. That's the first time I can say that. Usually I'm pretty stressed, but this time my trainer and his 8 year old son are competing too, so since I'm the "experienced" one, I'm trying to keep it together. LOL. Guess who's going to be using the relaxation technique a lot this week
Well, it's Monday night and competition is behind me. As usual, I freaked out a little Saturday night and had a drink to help me sleep. :) Sunday started well until I got a little lost on the way to the meet. Got it fixed pretty quick, but it worked on my frame of mind. The actuall meet was pretty low key this time so that was good, but I still missed 2 out of 9 lifts which really disappoints me. I did finish with a total weight of 545 for the day which is 5 over nationals last year. I really wanted to make the 200 squat but my head just wasn't where is should be and there is no excuse for missing the first attempt at the 120 bench lift.
